En el circuito Gabriel Thirouin localizado a 70 kilómetros del Sur de París tiene el honor de abrir el Campeonato Europeo CIK-FIA de las categorías KF1, KZ1 y KZ2 el 2, 3 y 4 de mayo de 2008. Comparado a años anteriores, el número de inscritos ha alcanzado un nuevo registro con un total de 185 pilotos, en el 2007 fueron 160. Las inscripciones se componen de: 44 en KF1, 37 en KZ1 y 104 en KZ2.
KF1, el escaparate la categoría de Karting donde los equipos más potentes son omnipresentes, con los conductores más experimentados que han estado compitiendo en el nivel más alto de Karting en varias temporadas y los representantes jóvenes de la generación que viene con mucho futuro.Para los antiguos el Karting se han convertido en su profesión, mientras que mantienen la esperanza de escalar en el mundo del deporte del motor y, a ser posible hasta la Fórmula 1, como Hamilton, Kubica y Rosberg, quienes compitieron en Angerville en 1999 en el Campeonato Europeo Junior. Entre los conductores experimentados de KF1, la lista cuenta con los Campeones Mundiales Marco Ardigo (2007) y Davide Fore (1998, 2000, 2004 y 2006), el italiano Sauro Cesetti, así como los Británicos Gary Catt, Jason Parrott y Mark Litchfield. 14 de los 44 conductores inscritos harán su debut en la categoría superior pero en vista de los resultados que alcanzaron en 2007 en la categoría inferior, KF2, varios de ellos pueden tener como objetivo el podio o incluso la victoria.
Los nombres que me vienen a la memoria son el británico Will Stevens, el Belga Yannick de Brabander, el holandés Jack Te Braak, el checo Libor Toman y el anglo-belga Michael Ryall. La nación con mayor representación es Francia, pueden alardear de unos conductores capaces de alcanzar hazañas, como Anthony Abbasse, Armand Convers, Arnaud Kozlinski y Alban Varutti.
KZ1 junta lo mejorcito de karts de 125 con caja de cambios y es por lo general coto privado de conductores italianos. Sin embargo, el grupo de Laudato, Manetti, Piccini, Toninelli y Giulietti tendrá que aceptar la oposición extranjera sobre todo, en particular por el Belga Jonatán Thonon (el ganador de la Copa Mundial 2007 de la categoría), los franceses Manuel Renaudie y Thomas Mich, el holandés Bas Lammers y el Americano Gary Carlton.
El KZ2, karts de 125 con caja de cambios, está en plena extensión en Europa y en el continente norteamericano. Esto juntará a 104 conductores, un 33 % más que en 2006. Con dieciocho nacionalidades representadas. Considerando el gran número de participantes, la primera manga clasificatoria está programada para la tarde del viernes. Sus clasificatorias, así como todas las carreras del meeting pueden ser seguidas online en el sitio web CIK-FIA (www.cikfia.com ). Con 11 Sesiones de entrenamiento y 17 eliminatorias, el sábado despiadadamente será un día muy ocupado. ¡Seis eliminatorias adicionales se correrán el domingo por la mañana como un aperitivo a las seis finales previstas para la tarde del domingo!
